National Meeting on Standardization and Quality Management 2015
National Meeting On Standardization And Quality Management 2015
Each year, the Japanese Standards Association (JSA) convenes standardization and quality control promotion organizations, as well as business entrepreneurs, managers and engineers from around Japan, for the “National Meeting on Quality Management and Standardization” to foster mutual help and betterment from lectures and presentations.
Again this year, the National Meeting on Quality Management and Standardization 2015 was held on October 5 and 6 at the Toshi Center Hotel.
For the theme for this year’s meeting, “Made-in-Japan Quality: New Challenges in Postwar 70 – Promoting and Passing on the Heritage to Future Generations.”
In the meeting on October 5 moderated by Mr. Hiroe Tsubaki, The National Statistics Center, the opening address by Mr. Toshio Ibi, President of JSA was followed by Special Lecture I titled “Global Strategy of YKK Fastening Products Group” by Mr. Masayuki Sarumaru, President of YKK corporation. Special Lecture II featured Mr. Kosuke Motani, Executive chief engineer of The Japan Research Institute, speaking on “Satoyama Traditional Land Resource Management and the Future of Monozukuri Manufacturing.” Both sessions drew full capacity crowds.
On October 6, 20 sessions were held on a wide range of topics, chiefly those that are currently drawing great interest. This year, lecture topics covered a broad range of perspectives, centering chiefly around human resources development in businesses, such as management systems and on the future of Japanese industries.
Once again, the meeting drew more than 1,000 participants on the two days. The participants have also responded favorably, reporting that a large number of case studies were very informative, that they hoped to apply the ideas on their own companies, that they gained greater understanding in the Q&A sessions with the speakers, etc.
In addition to the National Meeting, JSA holds Local Meetings on Standardization 2015 in the 7 regional blocs of Hokkaido, Tohoku, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku and Kyushu.
For “National Meeting on Quality Management and Standardization 2016″ to be held next year, we plan to do our utmost in its preparations in order to promote further growth in the number of participants.
