Quality Management System

The Management Systems Enhancement Department (MSE Dept.) of the Japanese Standards Association was accredited by The Japan Accreditation Board (JAB) for Conformity Assessment in July 1994 to implement auditing and registration of quality management systems applying ISO 9001. This accreditation was Transferred and actively carrying out its duties in these areas.

The international markets in which Japanese companies do business is growing ever competitive and consumers are demanding that companies clearly demonstrate in a tangible form greater accountability for their products. In this business climate, society places grater trust on those companies which implement and are registered to a quality management system. The MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. provides assessment and auditing services to help companies improve their business activities through quality management. This support is available from the introduction stage of ISO 9001 and continues through to surveillance of a company’s system. The MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. is confident that we can meet our customer’s needs.

Environmental Management System

Accredited by The Japanese Accreditation Board (JAB) for Conformity Assessment as a certification body in February 1997, the MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. provides entities assessment and registration services applying ISO 14001 environmental management system.

From the introduction of ISO 14000 system, to its maintenance or modification, the MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. can provide assessment and auditing services to support the environmental policy of any firm regardless of its size. The MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. is ready and willing to help firms meet all their international environment management needs.

Information Security Management System

Accredited by the Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community (JIPDEC) as a certification body in December 2002 under the Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification program, the MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. provides ISMS- assessment and registration services applying ISO/IEC 27001.

In this field of activity, the MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. intends to become a partner in support of organizations by reviewing their compliance with ISO/IEC 27001, in efforts to maintain and improve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets that should be protected.

Food Safety Management System

Accredited by The Japanese Accreditation Board (JAB) for Conformity Assessment as a certification body in 2011, the MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL. provides entities assessment and registration services applying ISO 22000 food safety management system.

ISO 22000 is a management system designed to maintain and improve food safety based on the principles of HACCP, where attention is paid to the manufacturing process and production conditions. This standard is not only for food manufacturers: it can be applied to all organizations in the food chain, including carriers and retailers. Through this certification, the MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL supports organizations in conducting centralized management for ensuring food safety, building trust among clients and other stakeholders, developing systems to prevent and deal swiftly with complaints, promoting compliance, and improving employees’ awareness of quality and safety.

Occupational Health and Safety Management System

The MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL provides entities assessment and registration services applying ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system.

Issued in March 2018, ISO 45001 is the first international standard for occupational health and safety management systems. Through this certification, the MSE Dept of the JSA-SOL supports organizations in improving occupational health and safety. Organizations that have already implemented other ISO management systems, such as ISO 9001, 14001, and the like, can also utilize ISO 45001 as an integrated management system that includes occupational safety and health.

The number of bodies certified by JSA MSE at the end of March, 2017 was 1,094 for QMS, 694 for EMS, 83 for ISMS, and 58 for FSMS.
